A good pedicure can leave you with super soft feet and beautiful looking toenails. However, we often do not have enough time to carry out a complete pedicure. All that we do is spend ten minutes on trimming our nails, filing them and coating them with your favorite nail paint. However, whenever we find time, we should pamper our feet and make them soft and beautiful with a perfect pedicure at home.
Clip Toenails
Trim all your toenails with the help of a toenail clipper to get a clean and decent pair of toenails. Avoid trimming too deeply as it can lead to ingrown toenails. Make sure never to share nail clippers as they can lead to spreading of foot fungus.
File Them
Use a filer and file your toenails straight across.
Soak Feet
Soak your feet in hot water for a prolonged period of time. Add some essential oils or bath bubbles along with bath salts in a large tub or pan and soak your feet in that. You can also add skin softening oils in the water.
Exfoliate
After soaking, scrub your feet using an exfoliating mixture. Various scrubs are easily available in the market. However, if you do not have a scrub at hand, you can make use of oatmeal for the same. Apply the scrub when the foot is web and then on your toes, heels and arch of the foot. For extra exfoliation, you can use a pumice stone.
Pamper Feet
Remove your feet from the water and wipe using a clean and soft towel. Place your feet in the position in which you paint your nails and apply a cuticle cream on the bed of all toenails. Once it gets soaked completely, push back all the cuticles gently to increase length of the nails. Rinse the nails properly.
Apply Polish
Dry the nails completely and apply clear polish on them. Once it dries, apply the nail paint of your choice. If required, apply a second coat of nail paint. Once the nail paint dries, cover it with top coat.
Massage Well
Massage a good foot cream into your entire feet. Use a scented cream such as chamomile or lavender and massage using your thumbs. Cover your feet with a pair of socks to allow the moisture to settle in.
